The granddaughter of the Dutch queen says she’s only 19 and isn’t ready to rule.

In a book to be published on 31 March, the teenage princess admits that her career “is simply a hobby”.

The princess, who will become heir to the throne this year, said she is “stupidly quiet”.

In her first public comment about being the heir to the Dutch throne, Catharina-Amalia says she has “no hobbies”.

Instead, she has a “to-do list with lots of to-do’s”.

Although Catharina-Amalia is to inherit the throne on her 21st birthday, she can remain in line for decades more.

Royalists are excited about her accession.

“Catharina-Amalia is our next great royal – the daughters of the queen will also wear the crown,” Jeroen Bijler, head of the Royal Guard, told the AFP news agency.

However, some critics say young Catharina-Amalia shows that young royals lack common touch.

This isn’t the first time that Catharina-Amalia has made headlines.

She entered the third grade a month late, and was also out-of-school time with the Dutch school system.
