Disney Cruises to require all passengers to have full vaccination before dining with 'Kids Eat Free'

Disney Cruise Line is scrapping its “Kids Eat Free” program in favor of requiring full vaccinations for all customers, the company said in a statement on Friday. The company has been under fire in recent weeks over health concerns, including a small outbreak of measles on its Disney Dream cruise ship, which left the Florida port of Port Canaveral in early February. Disney Dream eventually returned to port and was not closed for any illnesses, but passengers were warned against drawing Communicable Disease Awareness seals.

One of the methods Disney utilized was the Kids Eat Free program, which allowed passengers older than five to eat a free buffet meal. However, “there have been instances of an unacceptable rate of outbreaks and a concern for the overall health and safety of our guests, including those traveling on this cruise,” a Disney spokesman said in the statement to FOX43.

Disney Cruise Line is also working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to use “high performance rigorous” vehicle disinfection systems in all their staterooms and bathrooms, the company spokesman said.
