Two-time Academy Award nominee Ashley Judd (“Mighty Aphrodite,” “Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes”) has been mourning the death of her daughter Winter, the star of Dolphin Tale 2.
Winter was tragically found in the Miami aquarium. Although, she was ill, she was fed food twice a day. Her oxygen levels fell lower than expected. She died from respiratory failure. She was born without a functioning heart and suffered from respiratory failure from years of chronic lung disease. Her heart valve collapsed because of her prosthetic heart valve. She also had several strokes and had never fully recovered, nearly eight years later, from her last stroke.
“We loved this wonderful girl. We were all broken-hearted when she passed away in February. Thank you for the support you have given us over the years,” Judd tweeted.
She said her daughter, “Will be forever in our hearts. God bless her soul and eternal rest.”
